Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal gives you permanent hair reduction and renewed self-confidence. It eliminates the need for messy, time-consuming and skin-aggravating routines.
Many people struggle with unwanted facial and body hair, with most going to painstaking measures to try and keep the problem at bay and unnoticed. Methods such as tweezing, waxing, threading, shaving, and even bleaching come with unpleasant side effects; from skin irritation to in-grown hairs. We’re proud to say that a large percentage of our clients are so happy with the results we achieve, they come back for treatment on other areas.
How does it work?
The laser is attracted to melanin, which is the dark pigment that gives hair its colour. This is why laser hair removal works best on pale skin with dark, coarse hair. The laser tracks the pigment to the root of each hair and then releases heat energy, effectively destroying the hair without affecting the skin. As the hair will only be killed off if it is caught in a growth phase, a minimum of 6 treatments are usually required to guarantee a long-lasting outcome.
While we’d love to tell you that you’ll never see an unwanted hair again after laser removal, the way in which the human body produces hair means that is nearly impossible. No matter what you read elsewhere, laser treatment offers permanent hair REDUCTION, not removal. What we can confidently achieve is a 70-95% reduction, with the hair that does re-grow appearing fine and light.
Please be aware that laser removal is not suitable if you are taking certain medication including glycolics, Retin-A and astringents.
Our expert laser technicians will be able to offer further advice during one of our free, one-to-one consultations, as well as conduct a complementary patch test.
-The area being treated should be shaved 24hours prior to your appointment
-Avoid fake tan or sunbeds before and throughout your treatment course
-Always wear SPF 20-30 on the area being treated if you are exposed to the sun.
Our machines use a cooling gel applied during the treatment to soothe the skin, and you will be provided with goggles to protect your eyes. Some people experience a light tingling sensation during the treatment, however this is very mild. Depending on the area being treated, lasering could take between 15-minutes and an hour, which means you can easily fit a session in during your lunch break. We the apply Aloe Vera gel to the treated area after treatment to take down any redness.
You are welcome to listen to music or bring reading material to occupy yourself during the treatment. To get the best result, treatments should be undertaken regularly. We would suggest every four weeks for facial hair and every six weeks for other areas.
